Intellectual property data such as patents can be used to analyze industry and research and development trends and evaluate the value of companies for investment or financial support. As an example, Antock, which won the 2021 Excellence Award, successfully launched the “Hubble (Hubble) Database,” which enables analysis of corporate performance by collecting alternative data such as intellectual property data and employment information, and generated more than 500 million won in sales within 1 year of starting the business.
Kim Ki-beom, Director of Industrial Property Information at the Patent Office, said, “We hope that the excellent ideas submitted at this competition will be the foundation for revitalizing the intellectual property data industry,” and “Going forward, the Patent Office will continue to work to discover and provide consumer-centered intellectual property data with high industrial and economic value.”
