'Dino Lab' operated by Woori Financial Holding is an abbreviation for Digital Innovation Lab (Digital Innovation Lab). It was designed to be the “cradle” of digital innovation so that startups can grow into dinosaur companies. Major subsidiaries such as banks, cards, and capital participate to closely support everything from finding promising companies to collaboration and strategic investment. In 2016, Woori Bank's 'Webfintech Lab' and 'Developer Lab', which focuses on technical cooperation, were expanded into a joint project of Woori Financial Group and integrated into the current Dino Lab.
Last June, Woori Finance recruited Dino Lab's 4th term companies and selected 14 companies. For a fair review, promising startups in various fields such as fintech, platform, prop tech, and ESG (Environmental, Responsible, and Transparent Management) were selected based on evaluations from a total of 10 people, including external experts. Woori Financial Group practitioners, such as Woori Bank, are participating in the screening to discover promising companies centered on the possibility of collaboration. There are a total of 130 companies discovered by Dino Lab from 2016 to 4, and they have continued to generously support the creation of a startup ecosystem by achieving 37 business partnerships linked to the group and direct and indirect investment results of 129.4 billion won.
Currently, Dinolab has a total of 2 centers in Korea. Each center operates as Center 1 (Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul), which focuses on cooperation with finance-related companies such as fintech, and Center 2 (Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul), which focuses on cooperation with promising companies in new industries such as mobility. We provide scale-up program support such as office space, collaboration opportunities with Woori Financial Group companies, recruitment support, and expert consulting to companies selected for each center.
