Since 2012, the Patent Information Utilization Service (KiprisPlus) has been providing data related to domestic and international patents, trademarks, and designs so that anyone can use it through OpenAPI, online download, and storage media delivery. Open API (Application Programming Interface) is a connection software between a user and a database, and can be provided with necessary data by connecting to a database at any time.
In the case of Antock, a financial big data AI analysis solution company, it discovers ESG-based companies by fusing various patent data provided by patent information utilization services with data such as corporate financial data and media reports, and provides analytical data in various fields such as the company's business, technology, organization, certification, and investment to various public and financial institutions.
Patent data can identify research, industry, and market trends in the relevant technology field as a crystallization of information containing technical ideas in a structured form. In addition, it can also be used to predict the future and resolve issues by fusing it with various fields such as finance, culture, and trade through artificial intelligence technology, etc.
To encourage start-ups using intellectual property data, the Patent Office runs “Intellectual Property Information Startup Competition,” “Free Data Support,” “Startup Consulting,” and “Overseas Promotion Support” for prospective founders and start-ups.
Kim Ki-beom, Director of Information and Customer Support at the Patent Office, stated, “We hope that many good opinions will come out through the conference to use intellectual property data with high industrial and economic value for corporate growth and entrepreneurship,” and “We will actively work to implement the collected opinions as policies for the development of intellectual property based industries.”
