[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Park Dae-ro = An event where experts from the global fintech (financial technology) industry and businessmen gather to discuss the latest trends and future of the financial industry will be held in Seoul.
Seoul announced on the 1st that 'Seoul Fintech Week 2024' will be held at IFC Seoul (Conrad Seoul, The Forum, etc.) on the 7th, 8th, and 10th.

On the 2nd day, the 8th, the 'Seoul Fintech Week 2024 Conference' will be held, co-hosted by Seoul City and the Financial Supervisory Service.
Chris Skinner, CEO of “The Financer',” an online information magazine in the fintech sector, will speak on the topic of “The Multiverse of Money,” and Kunal Charterji, the current VP of Innovation at Visa Asia Pacific, will speak on the topic of “From Transactions to Innovation - Innovation Leading the Digital Economy.”
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who visited the site, will hold an opening ceremony and attend the 'Innovation Challenge Awards' to receive the award.
Following the opening ceremony, the 'Innovation Challenge Awards' will be held, an open innovation program promoted by Seoul City and financial institutions in collaboration. Prior to the award ceremony, six promising fintech companies selected through a competition ratio of 34 to 1 collaborated with Shinhan Bank, Shinhan Card, and Shinhan Investment Securities to develop and commercialize innovative financial technology for about 3 months.
The companies nominated for the Innovation Challenge Awards are iKUKA, Antock, Ilsamhertz, Ten Fingers, Lemon Tree, and Telepix. Based on these results, awards (Seoul Mayor's Award, Shinhan Innovation Award, and Innovation Award) will be given to the top 3 companies.
On the afternoon of the 8th, domestic and international academics and industry experts will discuss the current status and prospects of the fintech industry on 'Strategy for Seoul as a Financial Center in the Virtual Asset Era, ''Smart Life and the Future of Fintech,' and 'Global Fintech Insights with Asia Fintech Alliance'.
