[Maekyung CEO Special Lecture] Park Jae-joon, CEO of Antock/ Lecture at Hanyang University

“The process of interpreting and integrating the data ecosystem from one's own perspective is important” and advised “to have a differential data analysis perspective” during a special lecture on CEO Maekyung recently held at Hanyang University.

Mr. Park, who graduated from Yonsei University's Department of Business Administration and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University in the US, worked in consulting for 5 years in the financial division strategy team of foreign management consulting firm Ernst & Young (Ernst & Young) and founded Antock in 2015. Antock is a fintech startup that analyzes companies based on big data technology and provides a corporate analysis platform for clients such as Korea Social Investment, Woori Financial Holding, and KB Financial Holding.

Antock's flagship product is the Hubble Database (Hubble Database) service. (Short note) The Hubble database automatically tracks, manages, and analyzes data from more than 1 million domestic companies. Considering that the Financial Supervisory Service's Electronic Disclosure System (DART) manages financial information from 50,000 listed companies, the amount of data on more than 1 million companies, including private companies and startups, held by Antock is enormous.

The Hubble database solved the problems of public institutions, financial institutions, and investment institutions struggling with the lack of data infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises. In the case of non-bank notes that supply credit (loan) services to small and medium-sized enterprises, it was difficult to evaluate the credit of small and medium-sized enterprises, but it is possible to discern superior companies from insolvent companies through artificial intelligence (AI) analysis in the Hubble database.

Mr. Park explained, “We have built a system that automates non-financial data tracking and quantitatively diagnoses the company's growth potential based on this.” He added, “By analyzing past data from companies running on a normal trajectory, such as Toss, Carrot Market, and Delivery Nation, we are extracting success paths and finding companies that are following a similar path in reverse.”

(short note)

Mr. Park said, “We have accumulated big data expertise over the past 3 years because we decided that the ability to directly collect and verify source data, which is the foundation for providing investment advice, is necessary.” He said, “Efforts to highlight social values through data will become important in the future,” and introduced an example of incorporating Hubble's database technology into social economy and ESG management (environmental, responsible, and transparent management). Antock collaborated with Seoul National University's Department of Economics to design an algorithm to quantitatively measure the social value of a company. Mr. Park told students who dream of starting a business, “It is important to gain experience and competency by getting a job before starting a business.”
